SOFTWARE OPTIMIZATION AND REUSE TECHNOLOGY (SORT)
-
NASA has realized, as an agency, to successfully utilize software reuse
technology there must be a focused effort. An effort that involves both the
institutionalization of software reuse technology within NASA as well as the
identification and quantification of reusable assets. The Software
Optimization and Reuse Technology (SORT) program is that focused
effort. SORT is the vehicle to achieve and apply the vision of software
reuse technology to selected NASA technical centers. The SORT program will
assist the various NASA technical centers in order to nurture the
development of reuse knowledge, techniques and their adoption. This effort
will leverage previous and on-going work performed by both NASA and the DoD
in the areas of systematic software reuse.
