SERG meeting, 27 Oct 1998. 12.15pm, in CO B232

Summary of outcome of meeting

Tools for managing information

Do you write your own scripts to munge Web pages or School databases?

Ewan and Paul are interested in making better systems for sharing the day-to-day information generated and used by COMP, MATH and STAT staff. They hate the feeling that sought information has probably already been collected by someone, is probably on the system somewhere, and is probably in a strange format.

At this meeting we would like to go round the table finding out what information collections people use regularly, what information collections they might consider making themselves, what information collections they'd like to have provided, and what tools (if any) they have written to collect, access, or maintain information collections.

Paul Martin.
