The first is a set of stepper motors used to move the replicator film (ie play, fast forward, reverse, stop etc.). Once the film is in the correct spot the scond system activates. This is a microscope-CCD camera-Frame Grabber combination to image replicator ice crystal impressions. The third system is a Mac Quadra running Lab View to unite the first two. I have written sever Virtual Instruments to control the subsystem and combine the results of analysis. Now I would like to find a way for the system to recognize crystals on its own. Either by learning from a user or by pattern recognition. Any ideas, help or references would be great!
