Chris Francis Data Weighting Problems in Fisheries Stock Assessments From a statistical point of view, fisheries stock assessment is an estimation problem. In many assessments there are multiple data sets and the estimated status of the fish stock depends strongly on how much weight is given to each data set. I will discuss the problems associated with assigning these weights, and some of the solutions we have found to these problems. |
