R&D Subjects for the Next Generation Networks

Abstract:

This paper reviews the brief history of telecommunication and discusses what could be happening for the near future in the telecom society. Then the latest telecommunication networks and services of Malaysia are summarized to start discussions on the necessary R&D subjects to construct the Next Generation Networks (NGN) and to deploy new services over the NGN. One subject is the high speed node and the other is the communication terminals. Some MMU R&D output are also described in this article.
