Biography

Sam's role at VUW relates to the high-speed Kiwi Advanced Research and Education Network (KAREN).

Sam works closely with John Hine across all parts of VUW, to advocate for KAREN and the many opportunities it offers for new kinds of research, and better collaboration and communication across NZ and globally.

Sam is a librarian and has project managed initiatives at the National Library of New Zealand in the areas of distributed digital collections, digitisation and optical character recognition. She sees a lot of synergies between these digital library developments and emerging e-research technologies and social practices.
