Biography

Thomas Roehr is a MSc student at Victoria University of Wellington in the School of Mathematics, Statistics, and Computer Science. He completed his Dipl.-Ing. (BA) for Information Technology in 2004 at the University of Cooperative Education Stuttgart, Germany. After 1.5 years as a product specialist for mainframe software, he decided to return to university focussing on artificial intelligence and robotics.

Thesis (in progress)

The thesis deals with the creation of a simulation environment for team a urban search & rescue robots and developing an effective control and exploration strategy. The following image gives an idea of the simulation and the type of robots involved:
